I have been very slack with updating this website in the last few months….. :-)
Through the winter months of July and August I have been trying to go out riding with the horses as often as possible. Mid August Johanna came to stay with us for a few months to help with the horses and the cows. We have managed to go riding on the beach in Killarney twice, gone for a trip along the coast near Childers cove and have gone riding closer to home with friends as often as possible.
On the tenth of October Sunna had a lovely black and white pinto filly. We called her Villimey, which means “wild girl” because she is already very friendly and curious. Villimey’s sire is my young stallion Skelmir from Litli Stadur. I am expecting another foal this season from Bliđ from Haldane Icelandics and Skelmir. Bliđ is due mid December 2013.
I have decided not to breed with Freyja this year and use her as a riding horse. I have been to the beach with her a couple of times now and she is doing very well under saddle.
Funa is standing with Amy’s stallion Galdur at the moment and I will breed Sunna and Bliđ with Skelmir again. Hlyja will go to Dagfari this year if all goes to plan.
